HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to honor Fire Chief David 
4
Belskamper of Macon on his retirement; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, David Belskamper was born in rural Macon on 
6
October 23, 1930; he attended Macon Public Schools and 
7
graduated from Macon High School in 1949; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, On January 3, 1951 he joined the United States Air 
9
Force and served until December 8, 1954; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, David Belskamper married Mary Warner on May 18, 
11
1952; together they raised five children; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, He joined the South Macon Fire Department on March 
13
15, 1957; he served as a fireman until becoming fire chief in 
14
the fall of 1986; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, After fifty years of dedicated service to the 
16
community, David Belskamper has made the decision to retire on 
17
March 15, 2007; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
19
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

thank Chief Belskamper for his half-century of service to the 
2
citizens of Illinois and congratulate him on his retirement and 
3
wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors; and be 
4
it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6
presented to Fire Chief David Belskamper as a symbol of our 
7
respect.
