| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |

| Representatives wish to congratulate Norm Kurtz on being |

| elected President of the International Federation of Jewish |
| 5 |
| Men's Clubs; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Norm Kurtz will be installed as President on July |
| 7 |
| 12, 2007 during the biennial convention at Indian Lakes Resort |
| 8 |
| in Bloomingdale; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, The International Federation of Jewish Men's |
| 10 |
| Clubs is an organization of Jewish volunteers dedicated to |
| 11 |
| observing the commandments of service and study; the Federation |
| 12 |
| involves Jewish men in Jewish life by building and |
| 13 |
| strengthening Men's Clubs in the Conservative movement; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, The International Federation of Jewish Men's |
| 15 |
| Clubs was founded in 1929, and today represents over 270 |
| 16 |
| affiliated Men's Clubs and approximately 25,000 members in |
| 17 |
| Conservative synagogues in the United States and Canada; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Norm Kurtz has been involved in the program |
| 19 |
| "Hearing Men's Voices", which gives men the opportunity to |
| 20 |
| express themselves about issues ranging from men's roles as |
| 21 |
| fathers and sons to men's health and spiritual concerns; |
