HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The Oswego Village Board presented Lifesaving Awards to Captain Nick Sikora, Officer Pat Wicyk, and Officer John Wolfinbarger of the Oswego Police Department for their efforts in aiding those in need; and

WHEREAS, Captain Nick Sikora was nominated for his actions on May 24, 2006, when he responded to a call of a man down; he found a man lying on the ground, unconscious and not breathing; while waiting for paramedics to arrive, Captain Sikora began CPR; the victim was revived at the scene and transported to the hospital; and

WHEREAS, Officer John Wolfinbarger was nominated for his actions on June 4, 2006, when he responded to a call of a man down; he found a man lying on the floor, unconscious and not breathing; Officer Wolfinbarger began CPR until paramedics arrived and transported the victim to the hospital; and

WHEREAS, Officer Wicyk, the Oswego K-9 officer and a member of the Special Response Team, answered a domestic call where a man was found hanging from a chain around his neck; Officer Wicyk lifted the man while the man's wife removed the chain; due to his quick response the man's life was saved; and

WHEREAS, Captain Sikora, Officer Wicyk, and Officer Wolfinbarger are to be commended for their dedication to the people of Oswego; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Captain Nick Sikora, Officer Pat Wicyk, and Officer John Wolfinbarger on receiving Lifesaving Awards for their efforts to help others, and thank them for a job well done; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to Captain Nick Sikora, Officer Pat Wicyk, and Officer John Wolfinbarger as symbols of our respect.
