| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois wish to congratulate the Marion high school |
| 4 |
| freshman Lady Wildcats for an outstanding season and winning |
| 5 |
| the South Seven Conference tournament; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Lady Wildcats completed their 18 and 1 season |
| 7 |
| with a commanding victory in the championship game of the |
| 8 |
| conference tournament, beating Carbondale 60 to 28; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, The Lady Wildcats did not experience their first |
| 10 |
| loss until they were five games into the season; their one loss |
| 11 |
| was to a conference foe and was later avenged; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, They proved that hard work and playing as a team |
| 13 |
| will always prevail; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, The girls were found most every night at |
| 15 |
| Washington Elementary School practicing with each other, and |
| 16 |
| occasionally, working out at the high school with the junior |
| 17 |
| varsity and varsity squads in Wilson Gymnasium; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, The freshman Lady Wildcats are coached by |
| 19 |
| first-year coach Leslie Ackerman and assisted by her sister |
| 20 |
