HOUSE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 
3
State of Illinois wish to thank Deputy Jimmy Marler, Deputy 
4
Lonnie Lawler, and Detective Curt Anselment, for their brave 
5
and heroic acts while aiding their fellow citizens; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Deputy Jimmy Marler and Deputy Lonnie Lawler were 
7
honored as hometown heroes for saving  the life of Macie 
8
Higginson who had fallen into a pond near the family home on 
9
December 10, 2006; they received an award and pin from the 
10
Jefferson County Sheriffs Department and the Fraternal Order of 
11
Police by both local Lodge 241 and the State; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Detective Curt Anselment received a letter of 
13
commendation from his department for catching an armed robber 
14
while off-duty; he was alerted to an armed robbery at Razzle's, 
15
and upon approaching the scene he saw the suspect and took him 
16
into custody; and

    WHEREAS, Deputy Marler, Deputy Lawler, and Detective 
18
Anselment are heroes to many and true assets to their 
19
community; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
21
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

thank Deputy Marler, Deputy Lawler, and Detective Anselment for

their actions and congratulate them on their accommodations;

and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

presented to Deputy Marler, Deputy Lawler, and Detective

Anselment as a token of our esteem.
