HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Rend Lake 
4
College Warriors Cheerleaders on winning the Hoosier Challenge 
5
at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, during the 
6
weekend of March 10-11, 2007; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, The Warriors received first place in their 
8
division and earned the right to cheer before the Indiana 
9
Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers basketball game; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, The cheerleaders were named Grand Champions after 
11
earning the highest overall score at the Challenge; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, The head coach is Bobbi Shadowens; the assistant 
13
coach is Brittnie Aimslie; and the President of Rend Lake 
14
College is Mark S. Kern; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, Two of the cheerleaders were unable to attend the 
16
Hoosier Challenge due to injuries, Salina Wheatley and Crystal 
17
Snowden; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, The members of the squad are sophomores Lindsay 
19
Peas, Lindsay Brown, Vanessa Newell, Randa Hayes, Jordan 
20
Schmutz, Casey Sherman, Brooke Jenkins, and Elizabeth Heape;

and freshmen Tiffannie Morlan, Lauren Steffy, Mackenzie

Thomas, Ami Bowlin, and Holly Atkins; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5
congratulate the Rend Lake College Warriors Cheerleaders on 
6
their impressive win and the opportunity to cheer before an NBA 
7
game; and be it further

 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to the Rend Lake College Warriors Cheerleaders as a 
10
symbol of our respect and esteem.
