HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor the 2006-2007 Brown County High School Basketball Team on an outstanding season; and

WHEREAS, This outstanding season culminated in the team, for the first time in Brown County High School history, reaching the elite eight and going to the Illinois High School Association Boys Class A State Tournament held in Peoria the weekend of March 9-10, 2007; and

WHEREAS, The Hornets represented their school and the community of Mt. Sterling and Brown County in an exemplary manner, deserving of recognition; and

WHEREAS, Members of this outstanding team include: Josh Babb, Nick Reynolds, Gary Wagner, Brian Geisler, Brian McNeff, Ryan Night, Caleb Taylor, Ethan Koch, Nolan Koch, Nathan Kunkel, Nick Still, Mark Tracy, Blake Dunn, and Quintin Bradbury; the team managers are Eric Cowick and Brandon Kindhart; and

WHEREAS, The Hornets were coached by Head Coach David Phelps and Assistant Coaches Gale Thoroman, Denny Flesner, and Jared Hoots and finished the season with an impressive record of 26-7; and

WHEREAS, The Hornets were assisted in their winning season by the Brown County Basketball cheerleaders which included Jenny Geisler, Alison Northup, Caitlen Weise, Elizabeth Alexander, Tessa Baker, Alyssa Kennedy, Kimberly Volk, Brandy Lashbrook, Jenna Kellerman, Nevada McQuigg, Micaela Tracy, and Alison Ebbing; the cheerleading coaches were Nicky Geisler and Mary Weise; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the 2006-2007 Brown County High School Boys Basketball Team on an outstanding season; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the 2006-2007 Brown County High School Boys Basketball Team.
