| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Richard |
| 4 |
| Bruce "Butch" Bowen of Mt. Sterling, who passed away on March |
| 5 |
| 3, 2007; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Butch Bowen was born November 30, 1980, in |
| 7 |
| Jacksonville, the son of Alan R. and Pamela Sue Pulse Bowen;
|
| 8 |
| Mr. Bowen graduated from Brown County High School in 1999 and |
| 9 |
| attended John Wood Community College in Quincy on a baseball |
| 10 |
| scholarship; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, He was a sports cameraman for KHQA Television for |
| 12 |
| the past year and had worked at U.S. Cellular in Quincy; he |
| 13 |
| trained horses and had a United States Trotting Association |
| 14 |
| license to race trotters and pacers; he also was a volunteer |
| 15 |
| fireman for the Mount Sterling Fire Department and a certified |
| 16 |
| storm chaser; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Butch Bowen was a member of First United Methodist |
| 18 |
| Church in Mount Sterling; he had trained at Hinton Rural Life |
| 19 |
| Center in Haysville, North Carolina for four years and served |
| 20 |
| as a counselor for two summers; he twice attended Catholic |
| 21 |
| Heart Workcamp; and
|

| WHEREAS, Butch Bowen served as an ISHA basketball referee |
| 2 |
| for high school games; he spent many volunteer hours serving |
| 3 |
| the youth of the Brown County community as a little league |
| 4 |
| umpire and coach and YMCA basketball coach; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Butch Bowen was preceded in death by his mother, |
| 6 |
| Pamela Sue Pulse Bowen; his grandfather, Bruce H. Pulse; his |
| 7 |
| uncle, Mike Pulse; and his cousin, Jeffrey Peacock; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS,
Butch Bowen is survived by his father and |
| 9 |
| stepmother, Alan and Jacalyn Bowen; his grandparents, Virginia |
| 10 |
| C. Pulse and Harvey and Darlene Bowen; his stepgrandmother, |
| 11 |
| Marjorie Hyer; his brothers, Douglas Alan Bowen and David |
| 12 |
| Michael Brink; his sisters, Sarah Ann (husband, Blake) |
| 13 |
| Crenshaw, Pamela Jean Monroe, and Carol Jean Oeser; his aunts, |
| 14 |
| Patty Henken (husband, Paul), Peggy Huston (husband, Kevin), |
| 15 |
| and Carolyn Pulse; his uncles, Steve Pulse (companion, |
| 16 |
| Rosemary) and Larry Bowen (wife, Susan); his several cousins; |
| 17 |
| and his fiancee, Lynsey Edwards; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 19 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 20 |
| mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of |
| 21 |
| Richard Bruce "Butch" Bowen; and be it further
