| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the | ||||||
| 3 | State of Illinois congratulate Cal Schneider on the occasion of | ||||||
| 4 | his retirement from the Beach Park School District 3 School | ||||||
| 5 | Board; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, He is currently board president and will be | ||||||
| 7 | attending his last meeting on May 14, 2007; he has been on the | ||||||
| 8 | board since November 5, 1985; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, He was born and raised in Beach Park with his | ||||||
| 10 | brother, Larry and his sisters, Judy and Peggy; his parents, | ||||||
| 11 | Les and Eleanor Schneider still live in the family home; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, He attended Beach Park schools K-8 and graduated | ||||||
| 13 | in 1972 from Oakcrest Jr. High and then from Zion-Benton | ||||||
| 14 | Township High School (ZBTHS) in 1976; he graduated from | ||||||
| 15 | Greenville college in 1980 with a bachelor of science degree in | ||||||
| 16 | business education; he taught his first year at Huntley High | ||||||
| 17 | School before accepting a position with ZBTHS; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, In 1985, he was first elected to the Beach Park | ||||||
| 19 | School Board and met his future wife, Debbie, that year as | ||||||
| 20 | well; they were married in 1988 and children Kelsey and Matthew | ||||||
| 21 | came along in 1989 and 1992; during this same period he earned | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | a masters degree in counseling from Carthage College and one | ||||||
| 2 | from Northern Illinois University in school administration; | ||||||
| 3 | and | ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, He taught business at ZBTHS until 1997, then | ||||||
| 5 | became a transition counselor; he is currently a guidance | ||||||
| 6 | counselor and career development counselor; and | ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Mr. Schneider and his family have traveled to many | ||||||
| 8 | states and have spent many spring breaks in Florida; they have | ||||||
| 9 | spent the last ten years enjoying their summers in Door County, | ||||||
| 10 | Wisconsin; he and his family attend Northpoint Church in | ||||||
| 11 | Winthrop Harbor where he served for ten years on the church | ||||||
| 12 | leadership board and has volunteered many hours in the church | ||||||
| 13 | AWANA program as club commander; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 15 | NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 16 | congratulate Cal Schneider on his retirement from the Beach | ||||||
| 17 | Park School District 3 School Board and thank him for his many | ||||||
| 18 | years of service to the citizens of Illinois; and be it further
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 20 | presented to Mr. Schneider as an expression of our esteem.
