| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the | ||||||
| 3 | State of Illinois wish to congratulate Danville Deputy Director | ||||||
| 4 | of Police Bob Richard on being selected as the 74th annual | ||||||
| 5 | AMBUCS First Citizen; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, He has been the driving force behind several new | ||||||
| 7 | projects in the community; two years ago he started The Polar | ||||||
| 8 | Express and last year was instrumental in organizing the Lose | ||||||
| 9 | the Training Wheels program which helps kids with disabilities | ||||||
| 10 | learn to ride two-wheeled bicycles; he has also taken leading | ||||||
| 11 | roles in the designing, fundraising, promoting, and building of | ||||||
| 12 | several local playgrounds; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, He has gained national recognition with his | ||||||
| 14 | grant-writing abilities and was appointed to the National | ||||||
| 15 | Ambility Committee where he expanded the Ambility program to | ||||||
| 16 | include playgrounds, wheelchair ramps, and the ASK Computer | ||||||
| 17 | program; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, He joined AMBUCS in 1989; AMBUCS is a national | ||||||
| 19 | service club dedicated to creating opportunities for | ||||||
| 20 | independence for people with disabilities, especially | ||||||
| 21 | children; and
| ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | WHEREAS, During his time with AMBUCS he was the spark plug | ||||||
| 2 | for Danville High School Advocates to affiliate with AMBUCS in | ||||||
| 3 | 1996; president in 1998; Project Manager of the Year in 1999; | ||||||
| 4 | on the National AMBILITY Board in 2003 and 2004; co-chair | ||||||
| 5 | Playground for Everyone at Winter Park in 1999; co-chair | ||||||
| 6 | Independence Playground at Lincoln Park in 2004; co-chair | ||||||
| 7 | AMBUCS Sprayground for Everyone at Garfield Park in 2007; and | ||||||
| 8 | committee member for "Loose the Training Wheels" Camp in 2006 | ||||||
| 9 | and 2007; he is a board member of the Provena United Samaritans | ||||||
| 10 | Medical Center Foundation, the First Illinois Credit Union, and | ||||||
| 11 | Danville Renaissance; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, The First Citizen Banquet to honor Deputy Director | ||||||
| 13 | of Police Bob Richard will be held on April 23, 2007; | ||||||
| 14 | therefore, be it

| 15 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 16 | NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 17 | congratulate Bob Richard on being selected as an AMBUCS First | ||||||
| 18 | Citizen and thank him for his service to the community; and be | ||||||
| 19 | it further

| 20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 21 | presented to Mr. Richard as token of our esteem.
