HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of United States Marine Corps Lance Corporal Jesse Delatorre, who was killed in action in the Al Anbar province of Iraq on April 16, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Jesse Delatorre attended East Aurora High School, graduating with the class of 1998; he was at the top of his class academically and participated in band, choir, drama, and the Naval Junior ROTC; and

WHEREAS, Jesse Delatorre enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force out of Twenty-nine Palms, California; his unit was deployed in January 2007 to fight in Iraq; and

WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Jesse Delatorre was awarded the National Defense Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Medal; he was a brave and patriotic young man; and

WHEREAS, Jesse Delatorre will be remembered by his family and friends as a kind, happy, and deeply spiritual person who would do anything for anyone; and

WHEREAS, Jesse Delatorre is survived by his parents, Aureliano and Raquel Delatorre; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of United States Marine Corps Lance Corporal Jesse Delatorre; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of United States Marine Corps Lance Corporal Jesse Delatorre and his willingness to serve our country, which led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lance Corporal Jesse Delatorre, along with our utmost respect.
