| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the men and women of the | ||||||
| 4 | Lake County Soil & Water Conservation District on winning an | ||||||
| 5 | award from the National Association of Conservation Districts | ||||||
| 6 | (NACD); and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, The Lake County Soil & Water Conservation District | ||||||
| 8 | is a model of 21st century conservation district potential and | ||||||
| 9 | accomplishment; the District's officials are active in NACD | ||||||
| 10 | national policy committees, State conservation committees, and | ||||||
| 11 | other organizations; District agreements with agencies have | ||||||
| 12 | led to an array of district activities serving urban and rural | ||||||
| 13 | residents, focusing on nutrient planning, habitat restoration, | ||||||
| 14 | oil testing for urban residents, water quality enhancement, | ||||||
| 15 | adult education, municipal official training, and highway | ||||||
| 16 | corridor planning; while the district adopts new programs as | ||||||
| 17 | needs arise, it also keeps intact those that have historical | ||||||
| 18 | track records; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, The Soil and Water Conservation District of Lake | ||||||
| 20 | County was formed in 1957; it is an organized and operated unit | ||||||
| 21 | of government, functioning under Illinois statutes to promote | ||||||
| 22 | the protection and conservation of Lake County's soil, water, | ||||||
| 23 | and related natural resources; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, The Lake County Soil & Water Conservation District | ||||||
| 2 | offers technical assistance with Natural Resource Inventory | ||||||
| 3 | Reports for land parcels and their use; the Geographic | ||||||
| 4 | Information System, map overlays with aerial views, soil types, | ||||||
| 5 | wetlands, and other vital information; soil testing; technical | ||||||
| 6 | site assessments and recommendations; and soil borings; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, The Chairman of the Board of Directors for the | ||||||
| 8 | Lake County Soil & Water Conservation District is Don Lloyd; | ||||||
| 9 | the Vice-Chair is Tom Simpson; the Treasurer is Sandy Hartogh; | ||||||
| 10 | the Secretary is Cheena Wade; and Cheryl Doros is also a member | ||||||
| 11 | on the Board of Directors for the Lake County Soil & Water | ||||||
| 12 | Conservation District; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Joanne True serves as District Manager; Mea Blauer | ||||||
| 14 | is the Resource Conservationist; Nick Spittlemeister is the | ||||||
| 15 | Resource Analyst; and Jim Rospopo is the Natural Resources | ||||||
| 16 | Conservation Service District Conservationist; therefore, be | ||||||
| 17 | it

| 18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 19 | NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 20 | congratulate the men and women of the Lake County Soil & Water | ||||||
| 21 | Conservation District on receiving the National Association of | ||||||
| 22 | Conservation Districts award; and be it further
| ||||||

| 1 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 2 | presented to Don Lloyd, Chairman of the Board of Directors for | ||||||
| 3 | the Lake County Soil & Water Conservation District, as a symbol | ||||||
