| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the |
| 4 |
| Bloomingdale-Roselle Rotary Club for their many |
| 5 |
| accomplishments; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, the Bloomingdale-Roselle Rotary Club was created |
| 7 |
| by Chuck and Elaine Dobra, Steve Scholten, Jerry Gordon, and |
| 8 |
| several others in August 1996; the club was officially |
| 9 |
| chartered on January 24, 1997; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, The club has been responsible for many |
| 11 |
| accomplishments throughout the community; it was responsible |
| 12 |
| for the completion of Miracle Field in Roselle, a ball playing |
| 13 |
| venue for children with disabilities to play baseball side by |
| 14 |
| side with non-disabled children; the club created the Bookworm |
| 15 |
| Angels' Big Book Drive, which delivered 17,000 books to |
| 16 |
| Bookworm Angels for reading programs in at-risk schools in |
| 17 |
| Chicago, as well as supervising and donating to the |
| 18 |
| Bloomingdale and Roselle Fish Release Events for children who |
| 19 |
| fish at park district ponds; the club also developed and |
| 20 |
| implemented an international service project through a Rotary |
| 21 |
| Club in Lebanon to support people in need during war; and
|
| 22 |
| WHEREAS, The Bloomingdale-Roselle Rotary Club has also |
|

| made donations to many community organizations, such as the |
| 2 |
| Humanitarian Service Project, where the club sponsored a senior |
| 3 |
| citizen; members also have donated to the Western DuPage |
| 4 |
| Special Recreation Association Miracle Field League and the |
| 5 |
| DuPage County Area Project; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Bloomingdale-Roselle Rotary Club has also |
| 7 |
| received many awards, such as the District Outstanding |
| 8 |
| Membership Growth, 1998-99; District Conference Award |
| 9 |
| 1998-1999; District Polio Plus Partners 100% Club, 1999-2000; |
| 10 |
| Rotary International Global Quest Membership Award, 2001-2002; |
| 11 |
| District Membership, 2001-2002; District Outstanding Club |
| 12 |
| Service, 2002-2003; District Outstanding Community Service, |
| 13 |
| 2003-2004; District Governor's Award, 2003-2004; RI Centennial |
| 14 |
| Community Project Participating Club, 2004-2005; and several |
| 15 |
| RI Presidential Citations; the club also received the 2003-2004 |
| 16 |
| District Governor's Award for its numerous activities; |
| 17 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 19 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 20 |
| congratulate the Bloomingdale-Roselle Rotary Club for its many |
| 21 |
| outstanding contributions to the Bloomingdale and Roselle |
| 22 |
| communities and beyond; and be it further
