HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Rosario ("Russ") Petrizzo has been a resident of Homer Township, Illinois for twenty years and is presently completing his second term as Mayor of the Village of Homer Glen, a village that was incorporated in April of 2001 as the third largest village in Will County; and

WHEREAS, Friends and associates of Russ Petrizzo will gather at a farewell reception on Thursday, May 3, 2007 to pay tribute to him for his dedication and years of service to the residents of Homer Township and Homer Glen and to acknowledge and thank him for his many accomplishments as Mayor; accomplishments that will benefit the Village of Homer Glen for years to come; and

WHEREAS, Russ Petrizzo was the proponent of incorporation and was appointed as the first Mayor of Homer Glen, and then was elected in 2003; and

WHEREAS, Russ Petrizzo served as a Homer Township Trustee from 1993 to 2001; he served as President of the St. Mary's of Mokena School Board; he is a member of the Homer Township Chamber of Commerce, Vice President of the Homer Founder's Club, Committeeman of the Homer Township Republican Organization, and currently serves as Director of the Will County Governmental League; and

WHEREAS, Russ Petrizzo has been in the investment business for 27 years; he is currently Senior Vice President at A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc., in Orland Park; he has been married to Mary for 32 years and they have two sons, Matthew and Michael; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we thank Russ Petrizzo for his service to Homer Township and the Village of Homer Glen and wish him success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Rosario (Russ) Petrizzo as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
