| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 |
| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dick |
4 |
| Chase of Elmhurst who passed away on March 2, 2007; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Dick Chase was born in Chicago; he was a Marine |
6 |
| Corps veteran who served in the Korean War; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, Dick Chase was the owner of Chase Root Beer, a |
8 |
| business well-known for its concessions at numerous local |
9 |
| festivals and events, including the American Cancer Society's |
10 |
| Elmhurst/Lombard Relay for Life and the Elmfest in Elmhurst; |
11 |
| and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, Dick Chase was a former Director of the Elmhurst |
13 |
| Chamber of Commerce & Industry and served on its Marketing |
14 |
| Committee and Elmfest Steering Committee for many years, as |
15 |
| well as serving on the Downers Grove Marketing Committee, the |
16 |
| Naperville Downtown Business Alliance, and the Character |
17 |
| Counts Marketing Committee; he also served as President of the |
18 |
| Illinois Festival Association and was the Founding Director of |
19 |
| the Character Counts IN! Elmhurst Board; and
|
20 |
| WHEREAS, Dick Chase was preceded in death by his son, |
21 |
| Scott; and his sibling, Cullie Chase; and
