HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate Patrick Amerena, President of the Board of Trustees of the Addison Fire Protection District, on his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Amerena moved to Addison in 1967; he is a graduate of Northeastern University in Massachusetts; he is a veteran of the Korean War; he owned and operated a successful business in Addison from 1972 to 2000, when the business moved to Itasca; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Amerena has been active in his community; he is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and is involved with the Knights of Columbus and the Commercial and Industrial Commission; he was also with the Addison Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he served as President; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Amerena was also a member of the Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts and a Director of the Northern Illinois Alliance of Fire Protection Districts; and

WHEREAS, During his tenure on the Board of Trustees of the Addison Fire Protection District, Mr. Amerena was instrumental in the unprecedented growth and development of the district; he was involved in the relocation and building of Addison Fire Stations 1 and 3, as well as the rehabilitation of Fire Station 2; he was also involved in the enhancement of staffing levels for the community and the development of specialty fire teams such as HAZMAT, technical rescue and dive rescue; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Patrick Amerena on his retirement as the President of the Board of Trustees of the Addison Fire Protection District and wish him the best for the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Patrick Amerena.
