HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Michael 
4
J. Malkovich of Benton, who passed away on April 13, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Michael  Malkovich was born on October 16, 1950, in 
6
Christopher, the son of Joseph Malkovich and Phyllis (Minier) 
7
Malkovich; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, He served the City of Benton as city clerk for 
9
more than 20 years; he diligently served five different mayors 
10
throughout his career and was a dedicated servant of the City 
11
of Benton; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, He was widely liked and respected by his fellow 
13
public servants; he was considered by everyone he worked with 
14
to be an excellent city clerk, known for his great humor and 
15
knowledge of  city government; and
 
16
    WHEREAS, He enjoyed cooking, yard work, and spending time 
17
with his family; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, Mr. Malkovich was preceded in death by his father 
19
and son's mother, Connie Malkovich; and

    WHEREAS, The passing of Michael Malkovich will be felt by 
2
all who knew and loved him, especially by his son, Travis 
3
Malkovich; his mother, Phyllis Malkovich; his sister and 
4
brother-in-law, Jan and Guy Williams; his  brothers and 
5
sisters-in-law, John Victor and Tracey Malkovich, Mark and 
6
Apryl Malkovich, Tony and Diana Malkovich, and Tom and Becky 
7
Malkovich; and his several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

 
8
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
9
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
10
mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of 
11
Michael J. Malkovich; and be it further

 
12
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13
presented to the family of Michael Malkovich as a symbol of our 
14
sympathy.
