HOUSE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives wish to congratulate Dave Anderson on his 
4
retirement from the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection 
5
District Board of Trustees, where he serves as President of the 
6
Board; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, Dave Anderson was appointed to the Board of 
8
Trustees for the Vernon Fire Protection District in 1997; in 
9
1998 the District changed its name to the 
10
Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, Dave Anderson was a volunteer fireman with the 
12
Vernon Fire Protection District from 1956 to 1967; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, He was elected Roads Commissioner for Vernon 
14
Township in 1967 and served in that capacity until his 
15
retirement in 1997; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, During his time with the Fire Protection District, 
17
Dave Anderson has witnessed the successful passage of a tax 
18
referendum in 1998, the erection of a second fire station in 
19
2001, an increase in personnel and civilian staff, the 
20
negotiation of a collective bargaining agreement with Local 
21
4224 of the International Association of Fire Fighters in 2004,

the donation by the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection 
2
District of a surplus 2000 gallon Emergency 1 Tanker to the 
3
Nokomis Fire District in 2005, and the purchasing of a lot for 
4
a third station in 2006; and

    WHEREAS, Dave Anderson lives in Vernon Township, along with 
6
his wife, Mary; they have six children and seven grandchildren; 
7
retirement will give Mr. Anderson a chance to play golf and to 
8
fish, two of his favorite pastimes; therefore, be it

 
9
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
10
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
11
congratulate Dave Anderson on his retirement as the 
12
Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District Board of 
13
Trustees President and wish him the best in his future 
14
endeavors; and be it further

 
15
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16
presented to Dave Anderson as a symbol of our respect.
