| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate the St. Louis |
| 4 |
| Cardinals on their 2006 World Series victory; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, With their 4-2 victory over the Detroit Tigers in |
| 6 |
| game 5 on October 27th, 2007, the St. Louis Cardinals won their |
| 7 |
| 10th World Series, the second-most World Series titles of any |
| 8 |
| Major League team and the Cardinals' first World Series |
| 9 |
| championship in 24 years; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, In 2006, the first year in the new Busch Stadium, |
| 11 |
| the Cardinals won their 17th National League Pennant and |
| 12 |
| reached the postseason for the 22nd time; they reached the |
| 13 |
| postseason for the sixth time in the last seven years, reached |
| 14 |
| the World Series for the second time in three years, and won |
| 15 |
| the National League Central Division for the third year in a |
| 16 |
| row; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |

| congratulate the St. Louis Cardinals on their spectacular World |
| 20 |
| Series victory; and be it further
