HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dave Garver of 
4
Danville on his retirement as pastor of Ridgeview Baptist 
5
Church on July 1, 2007; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Dave Garver has been a full-time pastor for 32 
7
years; he has served as pastor at Ridgeview Baptist Church for 
8
25 years; during his 25 years as pastor, he has gained a 
9
reputation as a tremendous people person and as an empathetic 
10
pastor who visits the ill and helps people with their problems; 
11
and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Dave Garver is widely known for his involvement in 
13
community activities; he has been involved with the Center for 
14
Children's Services Board, the annual CROP Walk, the Sunrise 
15
Rotary, Habitat for Humanity, among others; he and his wife 
16
also enjoy Danville's cultural offerings, including the 
17
Symphony Orchestra, Arts in the Park, and Danville Dans games; 
18
and

    WHEREAS, Dave Garver and his wife, Carol, have four 
20
children, Debbie (Chris) Peterson, Sarah (Bryan) Krall, Betsy 
21
(Devin) Schildt, and Emily Garver; and four grandchildren, with 
22
one on the way; and

    WHEREAS, Dave Garver plans to continue his involvement in 
2
community activities and spend more time with his wife during 
3
his retirement; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6
congratulate Dave Garver on his retirement and wish him 
7
continued success and happiness in the future; and be it 
8
further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to Dave Garver as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
