HOUSE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Thomas J. 
4
Centowski of Oswego on his retirement  as Kendall County 
5
Regional Superintendent of Schools in June 2007; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Thomas J. Centowski grew up in Chicago; he has 
7
spent 43 years in education, 31 years in the Regional Office of 
8
Education, and 7 years as the Regional Superintendent of 
9
Schools for Grundy and Kendall Counties; and 

 
10
    WHEREAS, He started his career in education as an English 
11
teacher; early in his career he worked at a Catholic school in 
12
Rockford, before starting at the Regional Office of Education; 
13
and
 
14
    WHEREAS, Thomas J. Centowski worked as a lobbyist for the 
15
Illinois Association of Regional Superintendents of Schools; 
16
he served for many years in the capacity of Secretary for the 
17
IARSS; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, Thomas J. Centowski is the father of two children, 
19
Mike and Katie; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
2
congratulate Thomas J. Centowski on his retirement, thank him 
3
for his lifelong commitment to the education of our children, 
4
and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and 
5
be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to Thomas J. Centowski as a symbol of our esteem and 
8
respect.
