| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Harrisburg Police |
| 4 |
| Chief Mike Herron on his retirement; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Chief Herron retired on May 16, 2007 after more |
| 6 |
| than 6 years as chief, 12 years as a street officer, and 11 |
| 7 |
| years as a DARE officer; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Mike Herron plans to continue working as security |
| 9 |
| officer at the Harrisburg Medical Center; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Mike Herron had initially planned to use the |
| 11 |
| Harrisburg Police Department as a stepping stone to someday |
| 12 |
| working for the Illinois State Police, but remained an employee |
| 13 |
| in Harrisburg throughout his career; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, On May 15, 2007 Chief Herron was honored by his |
| 15 |
| colleagues and the former Chief of Police with a surprise |
| 16 |
| retirement party; therefore, be it
|
| 17 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 18 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 19 |
| congratulate Harrisburg Police Chief Mike Herron on his |
| 20 |
| retirement and wish him the best in his future endeavors; and |
