| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to honor Pastor Richard D. House |
| 4 |
| and the members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Lockport |
| 5 |
| on the 100-year church anniversary celebration; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church was organized |
| 7 |
| and built its first church in 1907 in Lockport; the membership |
| 8 |
| began with several families and now has more than 700 members, |
| 9 |
| and through the years the church has continued to grow, new |
| 10 |
| ministries have been birthed, and new ministers have been |
| 11 |
| ordained; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Shiloh has continued to provide a message of hope |
| 13 |
| and service to the needs of its local residents, even reaching |
| 14 |
| out and serving the greater Will County area; the church has |
| 15 |
| empowered and strengthened families through faith, fellowship, |
| 16 |
| and fun; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, The vision of Pastor House is to go beyond the |
| 18 |
| four walls of the church and make a greater impact in the |
| 19 |
| community; Shiloh has purchased property to build a ministry |
| 20 |
| complex with ministries to benefit all segments of society and |
| 21 |
| is on a journey to bring the vision to reality by expanding |
| 22 |
| their boundaries and answering the call of God to be a light on |
