HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the 
3
cornerstones upon
which our society is built, and a marriage 
4
that has achieved a notable
longevity is truly a model for the 
5
people of the State of Illinois; and

 

6
    WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs. 
7
Charles and Anastasia Spagnoli of Evergreen Park celebrated the 
8
fiftieth anniversary of their
marriage on May 11, 2007; and

 

9
    WHEREAS, Charles D. Spagnoli and Anastasia  B. Doody were 
10
married on May 11, 1957 at Saint Theodore Church in Chicago; 
11
and
 

12
    WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Guy Gerard 
13
Spagnoli, Michael Charles Spagnoli, David Joseph Spagnoli 
14
(Cynthia), and Gerianne Tilkes (Mark), and their grandchildren 
15
are Daniel Guy Spagnoli, Anthony Michael Spagnoli, Courtney 
16
Alyson Spagnoli, Alyssa Marie Spagnoli,
Alec David Spagnoli, 
17
Sam Thomas Spagnoli, Emma McBride Spagnoli, Mara Elizabeth 
18
Spagnoli, Jenna Marie Spagnoli, Mark Gregory Tilkes, Brenna 
19
Elaine Tilkes, Kayla Lillian Tilkes, Tara Catherine Tilkes, and

Ella Anne Tilkes; and

    WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its

highest plateaus
when a couple such as Charles and Anastasia

celebrate their golden
wedding anniversary; and

    WHEREAS, Charles and Anastasia stand as examples of the

best of our
society, and their love and devotion to each other 
5
and to their family and
friends serve as a reminder to all that 
6
hard work, dedication, and love can
make a difference in 
7
today's world; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
9
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
10
congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Spagnoli on the occasion 
11
of their fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for 
12
achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children and 
13
grandchildren, and rich in friendships; and that we wish them 
14
happiness and good health in the future; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

16
presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
