HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Mary Ann 
4
Kitt-Henry on her retirement from the Chicago Park District and 
5
the Chicago public schools; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Mary Ann Kitt-Henry worked at McKiernan Park, 
7
O'Halleran Park, and Munroe Park; she worked in the recreation 
8
department at Soldier Field in Chicago, where she ran the 
9
boxing program and sat ringside during the fights; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Mary Ann Kitt-Henry started with the Chicago Board 
11
of Education in 1977; she worked at the Ethan Allen School, 
12
Gladstone Elementary School, and Bontemps Elementary School 
13
before going to Nightingale Elementary School in 1984; at 
14
Nightingale School, she worked as school clerk, where she was 
15
responsible for payroll, the school budget, and the day to day 
16
operations of the school; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Mary Ann Kitt-Henry enjoys traveling and 
18
exploring the world; she is an avid supporter of QVC; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, Mary Ann Kitt-Henry married her lifelong friend, 
20
the late John Henry; she is a member of a proud Irish family, 
21
including her parents, Joe and Delores Kitt; her siblings,

Nancy, Mary Joe, Mary Beth, and Ed; and her cute little

Yorkshire Terrier, Callie; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5
congratulate Mary Ann Kitt-Henry on her retirement and wish her 
6
continued success and happiness in the future; and be it 
7

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to Mary Ann Kitt-Henry as a symbol of our esteem and 
10
respect.
