| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Gregory Okon on his |
| 4 |
| retirement from the Orland Park Police Department on June 22, |
| 5 |
| 2007 after 29 years of exemplary service to the Village of |
| 6 |
| Orland Park; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Gregory Okon joined the Palos Park Police |
| 8 |
| Department in 1973 as a dispatcher; in 1978, he joined the |
| 9 |
| neighboring Orland Park Police Department, where he served in |
| 10 |
| various divisions, including patrol, traffic safety, tactical |
| 11 |
| unit, and investigations; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Gregory Okon has been the recipient of the Police |
| 13 |
| Officer of the Year Award and the Cook County State's |
| 14 |
| Attorney's Officer Achievement Award, along with numerous |
| 15 |
| departmental commendations, awards of merit, and letters of |
| 16 |
| recognition and appreciation; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Gregory Okon and his wife Mary Kay have 4 |
| 18 |
| children, Amy Lynn, Gregory Jr., Ashley, and Amanda; therefore, |
| 19 |
