HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the President and 
4
staff of J.L. Hubbard Insurance and Bonds of Decatur as they 
5
celebrate the company's 50th anniversary; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, James L. Hubbard founded the company as a full 
7
service insurance agency in 1957; he recruited Kevin Breheny 
8
and Ron Koopman in 1978 and in 1979 recruited Randy Cannady and 
9
Tim Patton; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, In 1981 Kevin Breheny became  President of the 
11
company with Randy Cannady serving as First Vice President, Tim 
12
Patton serving as Vice President, Ron Koopman serving as 
13
Treasurer, and Linda Hopkins serving as Corporate Secretary; 
14
and

 
15
    WHEREAS, Today they have grown to a staff of over 30 
16
employees, offering all lines of insurance products to 
17
customers throughout a 150 mile radius and representing over 50 
18
insurance companies;

J. L. Hubbard Insurance and Bonds sells 
19
commercial insurance, personal insurance, surety bonds, and 
20
employee benefits to over 3,500 clients throughout Central 
21
Illinois; and

    WHEREAS, With premium income of over $53 million they have 
2
been named one of the top 30 agencies in the nation by IIAA's 
3
Best Practices Study Group; and
 
4
    WHEREAS, J. L. Hubbard Insurance and Bonds joined Soy 
5
Capital Bank and Trust Company in 2002; the agency is now able 
6
to offer integrated financial services to all their customers, 
7
including insurance, banking, investing, and trust products; 
8
and

 
9
    WHEREAS, The employees of J. L. Hubbard Insurance and Bonds 
10
are grateful for their loyal customers and are looking forward 
11
to serving them and all of Central Illinois for the next fifty 
12
years; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
14
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
15
congratulate the President and staff of J. L. Hubbard Insurance 
16
and Bonds on this milestone anniversary; and be it further

 
17
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
18
presented to the staff of J. L. Hubbard Insurance and Bonds as 
19
a symbol of our respect.
