HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dan Tully on being 
4
appointed the new principal of Notre Dame High School (NDHS) in 
5
Niles; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Dan Tully became principal effective July 1, 2007; 
7
he is a 1994 NDHS graduate, and had served as Assistant 
8
Principal and Director of Student Activities; he has also 
9
taught Economics, United States History, and Chicago Studies 
10
since 2000; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, The announcement was made by the President, 
12
Reverend John P. Smyth; Mr. Tully will be replacing Steven 
13
Zeier, who has served as principal for the last three years; 
14
and

 
15
    WHEREAS, Dan Tully has a Bachelor of Arts degree in 
16
Government from the University of Notre Dame, a Masters in 
17
Urban Research and Studies from Loyola University Chicago, and 
18
an Administrative Certification from the University of Notre 
19
Dame; and

    WHEREAS, For more than half-a-century, Notre Dame High 
21
School, a Catholic, college preparatory school located In

Niles, has prepared more than 11,500 young men for life beyond 
2
college; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5
congratulate Dan Tully and wish him success as the new 
6
principal at Notre Dame High School; and be it further

 
7
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to Dan Tully as a symbol of our respect.
