HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Agnes Vivod on the 
4
occasion of her 90th birthday on August 6, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Agnes Vivod was born on August 6, 1917 in Old 
6
Mines, Missouri; her parents are Frank and Alphia (Bourisaw) 
7
Thebeau; she married Frank Robert Vivod on January 1, 1936 at 
8
Sacred Heart Church in Granite City; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Agnes Vivod moved from Old Mines, Missouri to 
10
Granite City, where she attended St. Joseph Grade School and 
11
Granite City High School; after the death of her mother, she 
12
and her siblings were sent to live at Catholic Children's Home 
13
for 2 years, then went back into the custody of her father; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, Agnes Vivod was a housewife for most of her life, 
15
until the death of her husband in November 1985; following his 
16
death, she entered politics, completing his term as a Madison 
17
County board member; she worked as  Democratic committeeman 
18
until 2005; and she has been a member of the Collinsville 
19
Township Democratic Club for over 20 years; and

 
20
    WHEREAS, Agnes Vivod is currently an active member of the 
21
Collinsville Township Senior Citizens' Center, where she works

diligently to acquire computers and raise funds to operate the 
2
center; she still lives in her own home and enjoys such 
3
activities as cutting her grass, cooking, and spending time 
4
with her family and friends; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Agnes Vivod has five siblings, Joseph, Robert, 
6
James, Lillian, and Dolores; four children, Ronald Francis, 
7
Sharon Marie, David Terrence, and Cathy Lynn; six 
8
grandchildren, Steven, Teresa, Robert, Christine, Erica, and 
9
Karen; and five great-grandchildren, Brandon, Ashlee, Collin, 
10
Morgan, and Sophia; therefore, be it

 
11
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
12
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
13
congratulate Agnes Vivod on the occasion of her 90th birthday 
14
and wish her continued good health and success in the future; 
15
and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17
presented to Agnes Vivod as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
