2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Orlando | ||||||
4 | G. Jones, Sr.; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Orlando Jones, Sr. received his Bachelor of Arts | ||||||
6 | Degree from DePaul University and his Master of Public | ||||||
7 | Administration Degree from Roosevelt University; and | ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Orlando Jones, Sr. held leadership positions in | ||||||
9 | industry and public service throughout his 20 year career; he | ||||||
10 | served as Vice President of Special Projects for the Rezmar | ||||||
11 | Corporation, a large-scale residential and commercial | ||||||
12 | development company; he served as Chief of Staff and Chief | ||||||
13 | Operating Officer to former Cook County Board President John | ||||||
14 | Stroger for 6 years, where he was responsible for the daily | ||||||
15 | operations of Cook County's government; he served as Chief | ||||||
16 | Operating Officer and Project Director of Provident Hospital of | ||||||
17 | Cook County, where he was responsible for the hospital's | ||||||
18 | day-to-day operations and its 700 employees, as well as its | ||||||
19 | redevelopment into a public hospital; he served as the Deputy | ||||||
20 | Director of Cook County Hospital, where he was responsible for | ||||||
21 | the facility and its 6,500 employees; he also served as | ||||||
22 | Associate Director of Clinical Services for Cook County | ||||||
23 | Hospital, where he was responsible for the creation of the |

1 | hospital's Office of Clinical Services and Office of Program, | ||||||
2 | Planning and Development; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Orlando Jones, Sr. was the owner and manager of | ||||||
4 | Premier Alliance Management, LLC, a company which provided | ||||||
5 | project management and strategic operational planning services | ||||||
6 | to private and public entities; he was also the owner of | ||||||
7 | Orlando Jones and Associates, a firm which specialized in | ||||||
8 | program development and crafting strategies, as well as | ||||||
9 | assisting in partnerships with units of local, State and | ||||||
10 | federal government; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Orlando Jones, Sr. was an active member within his | ||||||
12 | community; he was Chairman of the Cook County Care Foundation; | ||||||
13 | he served on the Boards of the Chicago Botanical Society, the | ||||||
14 | Cook County Employees Appeal Board, the Cove School, and the | ||||||
15 | Governmental Assistance Program; he served as a member of the | ||||||
16 | State of Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board and the Health | ||||||
17 | Facilities Planning Board; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Orlando Jones, Sr. will be remembered by all who | ||||||
19 | knew and loved him as a hard worker and a genuine person; | ||||||
20 | therefore, be it

21 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
22 | NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |

1 | mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of | ||||||
2 | Orlando G. Jones, Sr.; and be it further
| ||||||
3 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
4 | presented to the family of Orlando G. Jones, Sr. as an | ||||||
5 | expression of our sympathy.
