HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Kathleen Connor 
4
Roberts on her retirement as Executive Director of LifeLinks in  
5
Mattoon; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Kathleen Connor Roberts has served as Executive 
7
Director of LifeLinks since 1985; LifeLinks was formerly known 
8
as the Coles County Mental Health Center; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, From 1981 to 1985 she served as a Social Worker 
10
and Field Office Coordinator for The Baby Fold in Normal; from 
11
1973 to 1978 she was Child Welfare Caseworker with the 
12
Tippecanoe County Department of Welfare in Lafayette, Indiana; 
13
and from 1970 to 1972 Kathleen Connor Roberts served as a 
14
Public Information Assistant with the Children's Television 
15
Workshop in New York City; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, Kathleen Connor Roberts has a Master's in Social 
17
Work from the School of Social Work at the University of 
18
Illinois in Urbana and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from 
19
MacMurray College in Jacksonville; and

 
20
    WHEREAS, Kathleen Connor Roberts is a member of the 
21
Illinois Community Behavioral Health Association, the Illinois

Community Behavioral Health Association Governmental 
2
Affairs/Public Policy Group, the Regional Behavioral Health 
3
Network Board, the Midwest Behavioral Healthcare Systems, the 
4
University of Illinois School of Social Work Alumni Board, the 
5
National Association of Social Workers, the Child Welfare 
6
League of America, and the Illinois Council on Family 
7
Relations; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, Kathleen Connor Roberts plans to travel and do 
9
private consulting upon her retirement; she will enjoy her 
10
retirement along with her husband, Robert Butts; her son, 
11
Joshua (Martha) Roberts; her daughter, Elizabeth (Travis) 
12
Welch; and her grandchildren, Matthew and Claire Welch; 
13
therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
15
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
16
congratulate Kathleen Connor Roberts on her retirement; and be 
17
it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
19
presented to Kathleen Connor Roberts as a symbol of our respect 
20
and esteem.
