HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the congregation of the Hinsdale Seventh-day Adventist Church on the occasion of the church's 100th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, The history of the Hinsdale Seventh-day Adventist Church began in 1907, when Dr. David and Dr. Mary Paulson came to Hinsdale to begin Hinsdale Sanitarium, which is now Adventist Hinsdale Hospital; traveling with the Paulsons were a contingent of fellow Seventh-day Adventists; in 1907, the group founded the Hinsdale Adventist Church in Hinsdale; and

WHEREAS, Since its founding in 1907, the Hinsdale Seventh-day Adventist Church has grown to nearly 900 members; the members come from a diverse spectrum of people of many careers and cultures; and

WHEREAS, The Hinsdale Seventh-day Adventist Church also sponsors many community programs, including its Vacation Bible School, its classical and Christian musical programs, and many community outreach programs such as DuPage County's PADS program for the homeless, nursing home visits, and hospital volunteer work; and

WHEREAS, The members of Hinsdale Seventh-day Adventist Church are outstanding citizens, whose dedication to their community and willingness to help those in need make them excellent models for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the congregation of the Hinsdale Seventh-day Adventist Church on the occasion of the church's 100th anniversary and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Hinsdale Seventh-day Adventist Church Pastor Ron Schultz as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
