HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the students of 
4
High School District 201 and Elementary School District 99 in 
5
the Cicero-Berwyn community for their outstanding 
6
letter-writing campaign to urge Illinois Governor Rod 
7
Blagojevich and Illinois Senate President Emil Jones to 
8
reinstate the member initiative funding cut from the State 
9
budget; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Thanks to the ambition and civic awareness 
11
exhibited by the students of High School District 201 and 
12
Elementary School District 99, critical services in the 
13
Cicero-Berwyn community, including mental health services, 
14
youth activities, and crime fighting initiatives, will 
15
continue to urge for funding they require to perform their 
16
duties; and

    WHEREAS, The students of these school districts are to be 
18
commended for taking action towards a common goal and for 
19
taking pride in their community; their actions are shining 
20
examples of civic engagement, a critical component of our 
21
society, and are indicative of the great steps that future 
22
generations will take to improve our government and society as 
23
a whole; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3
congratulate the students of Cicero-Berwyn High School 
4
District 201 and Elementary School District 99 community for 
5
their dedication and involvement in their community's 
6
well-being and prosperity and wish them continued success and 
7
happiness in the future; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
9
presented to representatives of  Cicero-Berwyn High School 
10
District 201 and Elementary School District 99 as symbols of 
11
our esteem and respect.
