HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Schaumburg Police 
4
Department Commander Paul Rizzo on the occasion of receiving 
5
the J. Stannard Baker Award at the International Association of 
6
Chiefs of Police Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, The J. Stannard Baker Award is sponsored by the 
8
International Association of Chiefs of Police, the National 
9
Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and the Northwestern 
10
University Center for Public Safety to recognize individual law 
11
enforcement officers and others who have made significant 
12
outstanding lifetime contributions to highway safety; only one 
13
municipal officer nationwide is recognized each year; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, Commander Paul Rizzo has contributed greatly to 
15
the cause of traffic safety over his 25-year career; he has 
16
served as an instructor in numerous traffic safety topics; he 
17
has initiated and participated in many enforcement and public 
18
education campaigns sponsored by the Schaumburg Police 
19
Department; he has also worked with many State and national 
20
organizations, such as the Illinois Child Passenger Safety 
21
Board, the National Child Passenger Safety Board, the Illinois 
22
Association of Chiefs of Police Traffic Committee, and the 
23
Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge, to further his goal of safer

roads throughout the Village of Schaumburg, the State of 
2
Illinois, and the nation; and

    WHEREAS, Commander Paul Rizzo was chosen unanimously from 
4
among a large group of nominations across the country to 
5
receive the J. Stannard Baker Award, a wise decision in light 
6
of his numerous accomplishments in the field of traffic safety; 
7
therefore, be it

 
8
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
9
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
10
congratulate Schaumburg Police Department Commander Paul Rizzo 
11
on the occasion of receiving the J. Stannard Baker Award and 
12
wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be 
13
it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
15
presented to Commander Paul Rizzo as a symbol of our esteem and 
16
respect.
