HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Paul Lauridsen on receiving the Illinois Alcoholism and Drug Dependence Association's George Schwab Award; and

WHEREAS, The Statewide organization represents over 100 treatment and prevention organizations; the George Schwab Award recognizes the individual who has provided the greatest service, made significant personal contributions to the organization, and used their leadership and expertise in the development of public policy; and

WHEREAS, Paul Lauridsen served as the chair of the Conference Committee, chaired the Licensure Regulations Review Committee, co-chaired the Treatment Committee, served as a member of the Board of Directors, and organized and moderated several community legislative forums; and

WHEREAS, He has been Director of Clinic Services at Stepping Stones for eighteen years; he previously was Manager of Rehabilitation Services, San Antonio Association for the Blind for five years; and Insight Project Director for the Texas Commission for the Blind for two years; and

WHEREAS, He has a Master of Arts degree in Psychology from Drake University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Lycoming College; he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Illinois Alcoholism and Drug Dependence Association and chair of the Treatment and Recovery Practice Committee; he is also a member and past president of the Southwest Coalition for Substance Abuse Issues; and

WHEREAS, Paul Lauridsen truly deserves this honor for his hard work and dedication to others; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Paul Lauridsen on receiving the George Schwab Award; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Paul Lauridsen as a symbol of our respect.
