| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives wish to congratulate the Sycamore Boys Cross |
| 4 |
| Country Team on the occasion of becoming the 2007 Illinois High |
| 5 |
| School Association Division 2A State Team Champions; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, In 2005, the team missed qualification for the |
| 7 |
| state meet by only 6 points, a mere three seconds, motivating |
| 8 |
| the team for another state attempt in 2006; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, In 2006, the team won the first Boys Cross Country |
| 10 |
| Sectional title in Sycamore High School history; the first SHS |
| 11 |
| boys team to reach the State meet, they achieved their goal |
| 12 |
| despite being the second smallest school in the competition and |
| 13 |
| placed 19th out of 30 schools in Division 2A; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, During the summer, the varsity team ran 10,000 |
| 15 |
| miles in preparation for the 2007 season, demonstrating the |
| 16 |
| collective focus, hard work, and determination to achieve even |
| 17 |
| greater success; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, In 2007, the Sycamore Boys Cross Country Team |
| 19 |
| became the Rock Falls Regional Champions and Belvidere |
| 20 |
| Sectional Champions, qualifying for the state meet; and
|
|

| WHEREAS, On November 3, 2007 in the City of Peoria, the |

| Sycamore High School Boys Cross Country Team placed 1st in the |
| 3 |
| state meet, becoming the Illinois High School Association |
| 4 |
| Division 2A State Team Champions and winning with a 116 point |
| 5 |
| margin of victory against the best 2A Division teams in the |
| 6 |
| State of Illinois; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the varsity Sycamore Boys Cross |
| 8 |
| Country Team are Derek Campbell, Alex Courtney, Nick Fagan, |
| 9 |
| Peter Grimson, Stefan Hueber, Tim Roloff, John Windelborn, Ryan |
| 10 |
| Wolf, Hans Anderson, Aaron Eischeid, Matthew Gilmer, Keaton |
| 11 |
| Leach, David Martin, Lucas Ruff, Anthony Salis, Chris Hammes, |
| 12 |
| and Steven Konwinski; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, The Sycamore Boys Cross Country Team coaches are |

| Michael Lambdin and David Liszka; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 17 |
| congratulate the Sycamore High School Boys Cross Country team |
| 18 |
| on their victory and pursuit of excellence and wish them |
| 19 |
| continued success in the future; and be it further

| RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be |

| presented to the members and coaches of the Sycamore High |
