HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the St. Rita High School Mustangs football team on the occasion of winning the Chicago Prep Bowl on November 23, 2007; and

WHEREAS, The St. Rita High School Mustangs emerged victorious in a decisive 31-7 victory over Morgan Park High in the final game at Soldier Field in Chicago; the victory marked the second time in the school's history that State and city titles were won in consecutive years; and

WHEREAS, St. Rita Mustangs quarterback Jason Kafka ran an impressive 180 yards during the game, including an 85-yard touchdown run; and

WHEREAS, The St. Rita Mustangs have also recently signed a 2-year deal to play in the Burger King Kirk Herbstreit Ohio vs. USA Challenge, the first Illinois team to participate in the tournament; the Mustangs' presence at the tournament will give the team a chance to show their impressive athletic abilities to teams across the nation; and

WHEREAS, The athletic prowess and dedication exhibited by the St. Rita Mustangs players are models of excellence for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the St. Rita High School Mustangs football team on the occasion of winning the Chicago Prep Bowl and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to St. Rita High School Mustangs head coach Todd Kuska as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
