HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are saddened to  learn of the death of
Stella 
4
Kirkpatrick of Dowell, who passed away on January 30, 2008; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Stella Kirkpatrick was born on November 11, 1919 
6
in Dowell; her parents were Mike and Terezia (Koss) Smolak Sr.; 
7
she married James M. Kirkpatrick on October 17, 1936 in South 
8
Bend, Indiana;  and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Stella Kirkpatrick was a homemaker; she was a 
10
member of the Dowell Homemakers and Birthday Club;  and

 
11
    WHEREAS, Stella Kirkpatrick was of the Christian faith; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Stella Kirkpatrick was preceded in death by her 
13
parents; her husband; her brothers, Paul Smolak, John Smolak, 
14
Joseph Smolak, and Mike Smolak; and her sister, Anna Alice 
15
Smolak; and
 
16
    WHEREAS, Stella Kirkpatrick is survived by her daughter, 
17
Betty Blanchard and husband, Robert; her son, James Kirkpatrick 
18
and wife, Brenda; her grandchildren, Bob Blanchard, Janet 
19
Stevenson, Kyle Blanchard, and Chelsea Kirkpatrick; and her 
20
five great-grandchildren; and

    WHEREAS, Stella Kirkpatrick will be remembered by all who 
2
knew and loved her as a loving mother and grandmother who 
3
enjoyed being with her family and who never met a stranger; 
4
therefore, be it

 
5
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7
mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Stella 
8
Kirkpatrick; and be it further

 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to the family of Stella Kirkpatrick as an expression 
11
of our sympathy.
