| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The production and use of methamphetamine has |
| 3 |
| become a rampant and treacherous plague throughout the United |
| 4 |
| States; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, The production of methamphetamine in this State is |
| 6 |
| aided by the ease of access to anhydrous ammonia tanks |
| 7 |
| throughout the State; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, It is possible to make anhydrous ammonia inert in |
| 9 |
| the production of methamphetamine; therefore, be it
|
| 10 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 11 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 12 |
| urge the Illinois congressional delegation to propose federal |
| 13 |
| legislation that provides funds to colleges, universities, or |
| 14 |
| other institutions that conduct research on the development of |
| 15 |
| an additive to anhydrous ammonia that makes it inert in the |
| 16 |
| production of methamphetamine; and be it further
|
| 17 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 18 |
| delivered to each member of the Illinois congressional |
| 19 |
| delegation and every college and university in the State.
