HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives learned with sadness of the death of Debbie R. Milarski on January 14, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Debbie Milarski was born on March 30, 1956, to Ted and Grace Scanlon, in Wheeling; and

WHEREAS, Debbie attended Wheeling High School, where she met her soulmate Wayne R. Milarski, with whom she shared 28 years of married life; and

WHEREAS, Debbie was the loving mother of Derek, Jamie, and Jennifer; and beloved sister of Sally Kowal, Penny Swift, Regina Weber, David Scanlon, and Paul Scanlon; and

WHEREAS, Debbie will be remembered for her enthusiastic commitment to her community of Vernon Hills, especially through her contribution as the long standing entertainment director for the Vernon Hills Annual Summer Celebration; and

WHEREAS, Debbie was actively involved in her children's schools: raising funds for stadium lights at Libertyville High School, where her son Derek played football for the Wildcats; and at Vernon Hills High School, where her daughter Jamie was a gymnast, and her daughter Jenni played water polo; and

WHEREAS, Debbie was known for her love of sports, and was a life long fan of the Chicago Cubs and an avid supporter of her nieces and nephews' athletic events; and

WHEREAS, Debbie's love of the true spirit of Christmas inspired her brothers and sisters to join her in anonymously sponsoring the celebration of the holiday for a less fortunate family; and

WHEREAS, Debbie was a valued employee and a treasured co-worker of the Jewel Osco store in Mundelein; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Debbie Milarski, and extend our sincerest condolences to her family, friends, and community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
