HOUSE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Jacob Carey on the 
4
occasion of achieving the rank of Eagle Scout on November 8, 
5
2007; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Jacob Carey is a freshman at Lakes Community High 
7
School, where he has maintained a 4.0 grade point average and 
8
is involved in football and basketball; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Jacob Carey first joined the Boy Scouts in 1999 as 
10
a 1st grader at Beach Elementary School in Round Lake Beach; he 
11
was a Tiger Cub with Super Pack 199; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Jacob Carey obtained his Arrow of Light with Cub 
13
Scout Pack 199 on February 28, 2004; he then joined Boy Scout 
14
Troop 275 in Round Lake; he earned the ranks of Scout and 
15
Tenderfoot in 2004, followed by the ranks of Second Class, 
16
First Class, and Star in 2005; he earned the rank of Life in 
17
2006; and

    WHEREAS, Jacob Carey's Eagle Scout Leadership Project took 
19
place on September 9, 2006; the project involved renovating an 
20
old fence outside of the Ryerson Woods Welcome Center to a 
21
presentable condition in time for a grand opening on October 1,

2007; with the help of 18 friends and scouts, he scrapped and 
2
repainted the 156-foot long fence, transforming it into a 
3
beautiful addition to the complex; and

    WHEREAS, Jacob Carey went through the call out ceremony and 
5
Ordeal at Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation to become a member of 
6
the Order of the Arrow in July of 2007; he achieved the coveted 
7
rank of Eagle Scout on November 8, 2007; and
 
8
    WHEREAS, Jacob Carey will participate in his Eagle Ceremony 
9
on April 20, 2008 at the Community Church of Round Lake; he 
10
should be very proud of the hard work and dedication that has 
11
brought him this great achievement; therefore, be it

 
12
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
13
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
14
congratulate Jacob Carey on the occasion of achieving the rank 
15
of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success and happiness in 
16
the future;  and be it further

 
17
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
18
presented to Jacob Carey as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
