HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the 
4
Freeport High School Boys Bowling Team on the occasion of their 
5
winning the IHSA State Bowling Championship; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, The Freeport High School Boys Bowling Team held 
7
off numerous strong contenders to win the IHSA State Bowling 
8
Championship on January 26, 2008; this victory gave Freeport 
9
High School its first State title win since 1951, a hard fought 
10
battle that took six seasons of intense dedication to achieve; 
11
and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Freeport High School bowler Ryan Buss led the team 
13
to victory with 2,669 points, followed by team members Rob 
14
Meinert, who scored 2,594 points, Sidney DeVries, who scored 
15
2,579 points, and Tim Holbert, who scored 2,577 points, and 
16
Matthew Keith, who scored 2,519 points; the team ended with a 
17
two-day total of 12,938 points, an average of 215.6 pins per 
18
game; and

    WHEREAS, The members of the Freeport High School Boys 
20
Bowling Team are Ryan Buss, Tim Holbert, Rob Meinert, Andy 
21
Piefer, Nate Vehmeier, Jesse Castle, Dan Reuber, Jared May, 
22
Adam Dickman, Matthew Keith, Tyler Hendrickson, Andrew

Osborne, Kurtis Gosewisch, Dillon Keister, Zach Janssen,

Robert Wales, Sidney DeVries, Tyler Testerman, Tyler Monigold,

McAnally, Zach Vick, Drew Lingenfelter, and Cody Rogers; the

team's Head Coach is John Kreeger; and the team's Assistant

Coaches are Dennis Endress and Bob Kuelling; and

    WHEREAS, The young men of the Freeport High School Boys 
8
Bowling Team are models of dedication and sportsmanship for the 
9
people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
11
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
12
congratulate the members of the Freeport High School Boys 
13
Bowling Team on the occasion of winning the IHSA State Bowling 
14
Championship and wish them continued success and happiness in 
15
the future; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17
presented to Freeport High School Boys Bowling Head Coach  John 
18
Kreeger as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
