HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Green Knights 
4
men's ice hockey team of St. Norbert College in De Pere, 
5
Wisconsin on the occasion of winning the NCAA Division III 
6
Championship on March 23, 2008; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, The NCAA Division III Championship game ended with 
8
a score of 2-0 in favor of St. Norbert  over Plattsburgh State 
9
University; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, A day earlier, on March 22, 2008, the Green 
11
Knights beat Norwich University 3-0 to become the only team in 
12
Division III history to win both Frozen Four games via a 
13
shutout; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, St. Norbert coach Tim Coghlin became the first 
15
person in NCAA Division III history to play on and coach a 
16
national men's ice hockey champion; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, This victory is the first NCAA national 
18
championship for the St. Norbert College Green Knights; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, St. Norbert College is the alma mater of thousands 
20
of Illinois residents and a shining example of the Catholic

Brothers in 1898; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5
congratulate the Green Knights men's ice hockey team of St. 
6
Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin on the occasion of 
7
winning the NCAA Division III Championship and wish them 
8
continued success and happiness in the future; and be it 
9
further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11
presented to St. Norbert coach Tim Coghlin as a symbol of our 
12
esteem and respect.
