HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the owners and 
4
employees of the Village Voices in Lena on the occasion of 
5
winning the Division A Advertising Excellence Award from the 
6
Illinois Press Association; and

 
7
    WHEREAS, Over 1,200 entries were submitted to the Illinois 
8
Press Association for its Advertising Excellence Awards; the 
9
Village Voices was chosen as the best newspaper in Division A, 
10
claiming more points than both the Elburn Herald and the 
11
Freeport Focus; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, This victory marks the third consecutive year that 
13
the Village Voices has won an Advertising Excellence Award, a 
14
testament to its commitment to journalistic quality; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, To achieve this astounding victory, the Village 
16
Voices won first and second place victories in the Best Shared 
17
Page/Sig Page and Best Niche Publication categories; first, 
18
third, and fourth place victories in the Best Full Page Ad 
19
category; first place victories in the Creative Use of One 
20
Color, Best One Time Special Section, and Best Classified 
21
Promotion categories; and second and third place victories in 
22
the Best Ad Designer category; and

    WHEREAS, The commitment to journalistic excellence 
2
displayed by the owners and employees of the Village Voices is 
3
worthy of the greatest respect; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6
congratulate the owners and employees of the Village Voices in 
7
Lena on the occasion of winning the Division A Advertising 
8
Excellence Award and wish them continued success and happiness 
9
in the future; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11
presented to the Village Voices as a symbol of our esteem and 
12
respect.
