| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Anneliese Voss of |
| 4 |
| Ambassador Girl Scout Troop 804 on the occasion of winning the |
| 5 |
| Gold Award from the Girl Scouts organization; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Gold Award is the highest recognition that a |
| 7 |
| Girl Scout can obtain; the award is equivalent to the rank of |
| 8 |
| Eagle awarded by the Boy Scouts; to earn a Gold Award, a girl |
| 9 |
| must meet several requirements, including leadership projects, |
| 10 |
| career exploration, meeting challenges to learn about herself |
| 11 |
| and the world around her, earning four interest projects, and |
| 12 |
| the completion of a community service project of over 60 hours; |
| 13 |
| and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Inspired by the documentary "An Inconvenient |
| 15 |
| Truth", Anneliese Voss devoted her Gold Award project to |
| 16 |
| obtaining or making canvas shopping bags; the canvas bags would |
| 17 |
| contain a CFL bulb, a reusable water bottle, an educational |
| 18 |
| pamphlet designed by Ms. Voss, and, in many cases, a copy of |
| 19 |
| "An Inconvenient Truth"; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, Anneliese Voss is currently a senior at St. |
| 21 |
| Ignatius College Prep; she has an intense interest in the |
| 22 |
| environment and what people can do to sustain it; she plans to |
