| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to honor Jeaness Medin of the |
| 4 |
| Kendall County Food Pantry as she retires after twelve years of |
| 5 |
| service to the community; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The food pantry has been operating for 35 years, |
| 7 |
| the last 12 under the direction of Jeaness Medin; her husband, |
| 8 |
| Curtis, ran the food pantry for four years before she stepped |
| 9 |
| in; she got involved with the food pantry after she retired 25 |
| 10 |
| years ago as secretary at Yorkville Congregational Church; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, The food pantry operates with food purchased from |
| 12 |
| the Northern Illinois Food Bank, as well as donations from |
| 13 |
| residents, community groups, as well as local churches and |
| 14 |
| businesses; the pantry uses the basement of the Kendall County |
| 15 |
| Farm Bureau in Yorkville, a space that was once a meat locker; |
| 16 |
| a donor pays the rent and utilities on the building, which does |
| 17 |
| not include heat or air conditioning; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, She credits the tireless dedication of volunteers |
| 19 |
| for keeping the Kendall County Food Pantry running over the |
| 20 |
| years; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Jeaness Medin grew up on a farm in Yorkville and |
