| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Noreen O'Brien |
| 4 |
| Davlin on the occasion of being named Irishperson of the Year |
| 5 |
| by the Sons of Erin; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, This distinctive honoree is 100% Irish, being |
| 7 |
| second and third generation Irish-American; she is one of nine |
| 8 |
| children from a large Irish-Catholic family; her fun-loving |
| 9 |
| family was all provided with a Catholic education; she attended |
| 10 |
| St. Agnes Grade School, followed by Springfield High School; |
| 11 |
| and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, After high school, Noreen O'Brien Davlin worked |
| 13 |
| for a liquor distributor and had the first date with her future |
| 14 |
| spouse as the result of a bet; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, After marrying, Noreen O'Brien Davlin and her |
| 16 |
| husband lived on campus at the University of Illinois in |
| 17 |
| Champaign; they started their own family while attending school |
| 18 |
| there, all the while retaining the desire to live in |
| 19 |
| Springfield; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, Not only does Noreen O'Brien Davlin cherish |
| 21 |
| spending time with her children, grandchildren, and |
|
|

| great-grandchildren, but also her huge extended family; she has |
| 2 |
| opened her doors, both literally and figuratively, to countless |
| 3 |
| others and has provided love and guidance to all who enter; and

| WHEREAS, Noreen O'Brien Davlin loves traveling to Ireland |
| 5 |
| and is known by name throughout Killarney in County Kerry; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Noreen O'Brien Davlin also loves golf, having |
| 7 |
| achieved two holes-in-one, and has golfed on multiple |
| 8 |
| continents; she also enjoys other sports, such as skiing, |
| 9 |
| fishing, and playing cards; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, The time Noreen O'Brien Davlin spent on the |
| 11 |
| University of Illinois campus when she was first married |
| 12 |
| fostered a love for the Fighting Illini; she is known for |
| 13 |
| tailgating and supporting both the U of I and Notre Dame; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Noreen O'Brien Davlin also follows politics at all |
| 15 |
| levels, having personally known a President, governors, |
| 16 |
| mayors, and, most importantly, representatives; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Noreen O'Brien Davlin would never boast of her |
| 18 |
| accomplishments, but has previously been designated as Grand |
| 19 |
| Marshal of the Springfield St. Patrick's Day parade and has |
| 20 |
| been recognized as Parent of the Year; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 2 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 3 |
| congratulate Noreen O'Brien Davlin on the occasion of being |
| 4 |
| named Irishperson of the Year by the Sons of Erin and wish her |
| 5 |
| continued happiness and success in the future; and be it |
| 6 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 8 |
