| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives wish to express their sincere condolences to |
| 4 |
| the family and friends of United States Marine Corporal Allen |
| 5 |
| Christian Roberts of Arcola, who was killed in action in Iraq |
| 6 |
| on November 27, 2007; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Allen Christian Roberts was born May 27, 1986 in |
| 8 |
| Tuscola, the son of Ronald Allen and Jaye (Strader) Roberts; |
| 9 |
| and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Allen Roberts was a 2004 graduate of Arcola High |
| 11 |
| School, where he was on the football and basketball teams, |
| 12 |
| yearbook staff, drama club, and AFS; as a youth, he was a |
| 13 |
| member of the Boy Scouts; he loved cars and was an avid movie |
| 14 |
| fan, knowing many of the characters and memorizing many of the |
| 15 |
| lines from his favorite movies; and he was a member of the |
| 16 |
| Walnut Grove Christian Church of Arcola; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Corporal Roberts won several awards for his |
| 18 |
| military service, including the Iraq Campaign Medal, Sea |
| 19 |
| Service Deployment Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Expedition |
| 20 |
| Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the National |
| 21 |
| Defense Medal; he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps |
| 22 |
| Achievement Medal posthumously; and
|

| WHEREAS, Allen Roberts was preceded in death by his |

| paternal grandparents, Almond "Bill" and Bernadine Roberts; |
| 3 |
| his maternal grandfather, Allen C. Strader; and his aunt, Nedra |
| 4 |
| Meade; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He is survived by his mother, Jaye Roberts; his |
| 6 |
| father, Ron Roberts; his maternal grandmother, Jeanne Strader; |
| 7 |
| his aunts and uncles, Joella Glenn and her husband, Jerry, |
| 8 |
| Janet Nacke and her husband, Bill, Carter "Corky" Strader and |
| 9 |
| his wife, Paula, Jeannine Bertsch and her husband, Rod, Joy |
| 10 |
| Tuttle and her husband, Mike, Lee Roberts and his friend, |
| 11 |
| Debbie Dorsey, Larry Roberts and his wife, Sherry, Jerry |
| 12 |
| Roberts and his wife, Bunnie, Kenny Roberts and his wife, |
| 13 |
| Kathy, and Paula Griffith and her husband, Rick; his cousins; |

| his special friend, Katrina "Kat" Chavez; and his dogs, Jaeger |

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |

| mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of United |

| States Marine Corporal Allen Christian Roberts; and be it |
