HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Mark Denman, Associate Superintendent of Schools for Danville, on being named the 2008 Administrator of the Year by the Illinois Association of Educational Office Professionals; and

WHEREAS, Mark Denman put together a display of artifacts and photographs on the historical aspects of Danville High School and its students, helping students to learn pride in their school and community; and

WHEREAS, He also promoted the Wall of Fame at the High School and the Twenty-year Teachers Recognition; in addition, he encouraged the use of school facilities for meetings and in-service opportunities, supported members when they attended State conferences, supported the Danville and State association web-sites, and for being supportive of fellow employees; and

WHEREAS, He is a 1971 graduate of Danville High School; he taught seventh grade at East Park and served as principal of Daniel and East Park Elementary Schools; he also served as principal at North Ridge Middle School and Danville High School before assuming his current position in 2004; and

WHEREAS, He serves as a board member and officer for many community organizations; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Denman has received many awards, including the Danville Jaycees Young Educator of the Year, the 1983 Outstanding Teacher Award, the 1983 Vermilion County Golden Ruler Award, the 1994 Danville Blacks in Government Educator/Administrator of the Decade, the 2003 Preservation Award, and the 2005 Danville Renaissance Association Award; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Mark Denman on receiving this prestigious award and than him for his dedication to the education field; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mark Denman as a symbol of our respect.
