HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Carianne Siegel of 
4
the Plainfield Police Department on being named the Officer of 
5
the Year; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Officer of the Year recognizes the police officer 
7
whose service to both the department and the village is 
8
exceptional and professional; members of the department 
9
nominate fellow officers for the award; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Officer Siegel started with the Plainfield Police 
11
Department in 1999; she worked in the patrol division for two 
12
years and was later assigned to the investigations unit in 
13
2001; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, Officer Siegel tracked down several leads in 
15
high-profile cases in 2007, filling in as a team leader and 
16
assisting patrols when she was needed; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, She is referred to by Police Chief Don Bennett as 
18
very dedicated and worthy of the selection as the Officer of 
19
the Year; and

    WHEREAS, Officer Siegel has received letters of

appreciation from the department and the Metropolitan Area 
2
Narcotics Squad; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5
congratulate Carianne Siegel on this recognition and wish her 
6
the best in her future endeavors; and be it further

 
7
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to Plainfield Police Officer Carianne Siegel as a 
9
symbol of our sincere respect.
